Recap: Furlow Charter School Falcons vs. Marion County Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to the Furlow Charter School Falcons, who are still winless after their tenth match. They took a serious blow against Marion County on Saturday, falling 75-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Furlow Charter School has suffered yet this season.
Enrique Retana and Jaylen Deriso certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Retana scored ten points along with seven steals, while Deriso scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Retana continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Furlow Charter School's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Marion County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Furlow Charter School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Marion County, they will face off against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central and Marion County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
