Volleyball Recap: Coral Academy of Science - Reno Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Coral Academy of Science - Reno and Battle Mountain had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longhorns on Friday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Coral Academy of Science - Reno started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 29-27, 25-11, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Alexa Lupercio and Adelyn Zimmerman, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Lexi Johnson and her 11 assists. Finally, Lupercio was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Coral Academy of Science - Reno's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Battle Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Coral Academy of Science - Reno wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against West Wendover on the 11th. As for Battle Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against North Tahoe on the 11th.
