Basketball Recap: Tonopah Valley Takes a Loss

Tonopah Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 41-21 to the Maryvale Prep Matador. While losing is never fun, the Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Matador are ranked 126th).

Alanah Arriaga continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Maryvale Prep, going 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and eight boards. Amaya Myers was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals.

Tonopah Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Maryvale Prep, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Tonopah Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-10 loss against Parker on the 14th. As for Maryvale Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 26-21 victory against Anthem Prep on the 14th.
