After a string of four wins, Burrillville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 77-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pilgrim Patriots. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Burrillville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Dichiaro, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Sean Zanella, who went 5 for 12 en route to 17 points.

Burrillville's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2. As for Pilgrim, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burrillville has already played their next game (against St. Raphael Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pilgrim won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lunenburg at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pilgrim has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
