Baseball Game Preview: Taft Eagles vs. Warren Township Blue Devils

The Taft Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Warren Township Blue Devils at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Taft is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Lake View 14-5 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

Taft got a massive performance out of Andrew Korolis, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The Eagles are undefeated when Korolis posts two or more runs, but 5-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Israel Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Taft kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Warren Township and Stevenson had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Blue Devils walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Patriots on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Blue Devils have beaten the Patriots on their field since April 10, 2023.

Taft's record now sits at 10-12. As for Warren Township, their record is now 15-6.

Taft came up short against Warren Township in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 4-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
