Soccer Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside entered their contest against Holy Cross on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Vikings fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 2-1. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Riverside couldn't quite close it out.

Riverside's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 13-2. As for Holy Cross, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Riverside will take on rival Old Forge at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Holy Cross is set to square off against their familiar foe Blue Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
