 The Desert Vista Thunder will head out on the road to  square off against  the Gilbert Tigers at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday. Desert Vista is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.6  runs per game this season.
 Last Thursday, Desert Vista faced Highland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Desert Vista came out on top against Highland by a score of  7-2. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Desert Vista.
  PJ Alig tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Jayden Garrison, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Javier Colina, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  9-1 to Queen Creek, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
 Desert Vista's win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 13-8. As for Gilbert, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 13-8.
 Desert Vista beat Gilbert 6-2  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023. Will Desert Vista repeat their success,  or does  Gilbert have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
