Recap: Westfield Shamrocks vs. Pike Red Devils
The Westfield Shamrocks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over Pike. That's another feather in the cap for Westfield, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ellie Kelleher continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Westfield's points. Another player making a difference was Reagan Lorenzen, who scored 17 points.
Westfield pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Pike, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westfield will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Warsaw at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Pike, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warren Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Warren Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
