Softball Game Preview: Avella Eagles vs. South Side Rams

The Avella Eagles will face off against the South Side Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Avella is looking for their season's first win.

Avella came up short against West Greene on Tuesday, falling 17-2.

Avella saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Rush, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

South Side never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bishop Canevin on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 22-2 victory. Considering the Rams have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ariel Poelcher was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Brooke McNary was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

South Side now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Avella, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
