Volleyball Recap: Katy Taylor Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Sydney Herleth and Lucy Mihalick

Katy Taylor lost against Jordan back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Katy Taylor sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 22-25, 25-18.

Katy Taylor's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lucy Mihalick, who had ten digs and two aces, and Sydney Herleth, who had 18 digs and three assists. Mihalick has been hot, having also posted 14 or more assists the last five times she's played. Eva Batcha also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Katy Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Jordan, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Katy Taylor has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Mayde Creek on the 19th. As for Jordan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Tompkins on the 19th.
