Softball Game Preview: Canton Warriors vs. Bucktail Bucks

The Canton Warriors will square off against the Bucktail Bucks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Canton is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 14-4 to Northeast Bradford.

Meanwhile, Bucktail never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Sugar Valley Rural 15-0.

Carrie Ditty made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ditty was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Makenna Stone was a standout: she scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kendall Wagner, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bucktail always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bucktail, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
