Basketball Game Recap: MAST Academy Makos vs. Goleman Gators

The MAST Academy Makos pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goleman. MAST Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Goleman was led to victory by Michael Gonzalez and Jonathan Acevedo. Gonzalez almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Acevedo scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Ewing, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.

MAST Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Goleman, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. MAST Academy will square off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goleman, they and the Tornadoes will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Booker T. Washington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
