Baseball Recap: Tintic Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Tintic won the last time they faced Wendover and things went their way on Friday too. The Miners blew past the Wildcats 13-3. Considering the Miners have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tristen Terry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Terry was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Tintic let Gavin Bratt and Emmitt Despain run wild. Bratt got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles and one run, while Despain went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Despain has become a key player for Tintic: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Kaylon Steele was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tintic pushed their record up to 5-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Wendover, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Coming up, Tintic will take on Wayne at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wendover, they will venture away from home to take on Altamont at 3:00 p.m. on the 27th.
