Game recap: Sheldon High School Football Team defeats Douglas

PORTLAND, Ore. - Sheldon (Eugene, Ore.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 42-6 victory over Douglas (Portland, Ore.) on Saturday.

The Irish were up 35-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Connor Strahm in the first quarter.

Sheldon expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by Yadie Dunmore.

The Eugene school's most effective player was Taylor Alie. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.

The Scots' lone touchdown came on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter.



The Irish went into the matchup giving up only 12.7 points per game.

The defeat comes as a step back for Douglas, which notched a 44-21 victory over Newberg in its previous outing.
