Baseball Recap: Macarthur Beats Southwest for Their Fifth Straight Win

MacArthur proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Southwest Dragons 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Brahmas sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

MacArthur's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Laboy-Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Laboy-Rodriguez a new career-high. Another was Diego Morillo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Southwest, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. MacArthur will challenge rival Jay at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Southwest is set to square off against their familiar foe Harlandale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
