Deerfield Academy dropped their record down to 15-5 on Sunday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins. They came up short against Dexter Southfield, falling 11-5. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Dexter Southfield this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-3 defeat back in April.

As for Dexter Southfield, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2. Considering they have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Sunday's blowout was nothing new.

For Dexter Southfield's part, Tom Mahoney looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, Mahoney posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Gabe Malaret was a standout: he fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Koski, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

As of now, neither Deerfield Academy nor Dexter Southfield have any future games scheduled.
