Kodiak faced Palmer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bears' pitchers stepped up to hand the Moose an 11-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on six straight.

Kodiak's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Palmer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kodiak will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Soldotna on the 16th. As for Palmer, they will square off against Houston at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.2 runs per game on average), something the Moose will no doubt try to take advantage of.
