Football Recap: Opp Starts off Right with Win over Northview + How To Watch

Opp had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Northview Chiefs by a score of 26-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bobcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 154th in Alabama, while the Chiefs are ranked 390th in Florida).

Opp's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DJ Hines, who picked up 140 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Hines' longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Another passer making a difference was Talan Wicker, who threw for 140 yards and two TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Despite the loss, Northview still got an impressive performance from Nate Duffy, who rushed for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

Northview dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Opp will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on New Brockton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bobcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Northview, they will square off against Freeport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
