Recap: Rowan County Vikings vs. Mason County Royals
Even though the Mason County Royals scored an imposing 77 points on Tuesday, the Rowan County Vikings still came out on top. Rowan County took their contest against Mason County 86-77. This was payback for Rowan County, who suffered a 80-54 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Rowan County had a senior duo take command as Colby Wilburn scored 33 points along with 5 rebounds and Brayden Mirus scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Winkleman, who scored 6 points along with 4 steals.
Rowan County's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Mason County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Greenup County the next time they take the court. Mason County will head out to face Greenup County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Rowan County will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
