Baseball Recap: Mater Dei Catholic Takes a Loss

If Mater Dei Catholic was riding high fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Francis Parker last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mater Dei Catholic fell 10-5 to the Crescenta Valley Falcons on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.

Kaij Ordaz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Mater Dei Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Crescenta Valley, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Crescenta Valley beat Mater Dei Catholic by a score of 6-3 later that day.
