Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Lumberjacks vs. Carlin Railroaders

Having just played yesterday, the Westwood Lumberjacks will jump right back in to play the Carlin Railroaders at 9:45 a.m. on Friday. Westwood will be strutting in after a win while Carlin will be coming in after a defeat.

Westwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Non Varsity Tournament Opponent to the tune of 77-28 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Carlin took a blow against Whittell on Thursday, falling 58-23. The Railroaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carlin's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Westwood, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Westwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Carlin when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 36-34. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Carlin's Leonidas Krantz, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Westwood still be able to contain Krantz? There's only one way to find out.
