Softball Game Preview: Norwich RVT Warriors vs. St. Bernard Saints

The Norwich RVT Warriors will take on the St. Bernard Saints at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

On Tuesday, Norwich RVT got the win against Vinal RVT by a conclusive 24-11. Considering the Warriors have won seven matches by more than 11 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, while St. Bernard put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Woodstock Academy. The Saints walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Centaurs.

Not much got past Kaitlyn Scribner, who gave up just a hit to keep Woodstock Academy off the board. Scribner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aubree Nygaard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Olivia Kane was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Norwich RVT pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for St. Bernard, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Norwich RVT beat St. Bernard 8-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saints turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
