Volleyball Recap: Heard County Takes a Loss

Heard County was the 2-1 winner over Rockmart when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Braves fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heard County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-21, 16-14.

Leading Rockmart to victory were Lilly Griffin and Gracie Wilson. Griffin had 13 digs, while Wilson had six digs. That's the most digs Griffin has posted over her last 12 matchups.

Heard County's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Rockmart, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Heard County will take on Pike County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockmart, they will challenge Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
