Baseball Recap: Somerville Comes Up Short

Somerville lost against Peabody Veterans Memorial back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Highlanders came up short against the Tanners, falling 13-2. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Somerville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerville will head out to face off against Lynn Classical at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, they will head out on the road to challenge Beverly at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
