Watauga is 8-2 against Alexander Central since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Pioneers are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Watauga is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Watauga's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on South Caldwell with a sharp 3-0 win. Considering Watauga have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Asher Hampton and Evan Mawhinney scored all three of Watauga's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Alexander Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out McDowell 3-2. The result kept Alexander Central happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 4th.

Watauga's record now sits at 7-3-3. As for Alexander Central, their record is now 8-3-2.

Watauga was able to grind out a solid victory over Alexander Central when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
