Softball Recap: Fossil Ridge Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Fossil Ridge got themselves on the board against Saginaw on Tuesday, but Saginaw never followed suit. They blew past the Rough Riders 12-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Olivia Scott was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

Scott wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Chrisman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Briley Wilson was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Fossil Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. Saginaw is on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fossil Ridge beat Saginaw by a score of 12-0 on Wednesday.
