Basketball Game Preview: Plumas Charter Warriors vs. Westwood Lumberjacks

The Plumas Charter Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Westwood Lumberjacks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Plumas Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.4 points per game this season.

On Wednesday, Plumas Charter was fully in charge, breezing past CORE Butte 86-34. With the Warriors ahead 52-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

It was another big night for Dalton Bentz, who shot 8-for-14 from deep and almost dropped a triple-double with 36 points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Joseph, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 17 points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Meanwhile, Westwood didn't have quite enough to beat Princeton on Wednesday and fell 53-50. The loss continues a trend for the Lumberjacks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Plumas Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.

Plumas Charter strolled past Westwood when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 52-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plumas Charter since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
