Soccer Game Preview: Blue Ridge vs. Show Low

The Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets will face off against the Show Low Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Show Low likes a good challenge.

Blue Ridge's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Holbrook. Considering Blue Ridge have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Holbrook from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Camryn Fielding led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Show Low faced Highland Prep West in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the HORNETS by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Show Low's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Blue Ridge's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those five matchups. As for Show Low, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
