Basketball Recap: Justin Wong's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Temple City over La Canada

Temple City played a tough match on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the La Canada Spartans, falling 60-39. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 709th, while the Spartans are ranked 69th).

Temple City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Wong, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Lam, who put up eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Temple City and nudges their season record down to 9-13. As for La Canada, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Temple City will face off against Monrovia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Temple City is facing Monrovia at the right time seeing as Monrovia is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for La Canada, they will take on San Marino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Canada is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
