Hickory hasn't had much luck against North Iredell recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hickory Red Tornadoes will venture away from home to square off against the North Iredell Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Hickory is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Hickory is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against North Iredell on Tuesday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 8-2.

Alyssa Wood spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Hickory saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Morphis, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Carsyn Barry was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Hickory's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for North Iredell, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
