Baseball Recap: Long Beach Poly Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

While Long Beach Poly put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Paramount. The Jackrabbits came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 5-0. The Jackrabbits haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ryan King tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Long Beach Poly is 6-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Long Beach Poly's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tate Hammond, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Giovanni Migliazza also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Long Beach Poly pushed their record up to 11-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Paramount, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-10.
