Rio Americano has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They lost 5-1 to the Woodcreek Timberwolves on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 651st, while the Timberwolves are ranked 69th).

Rio Americano's goal came courtesy of Zach Brown, which was the first he's scored this season.

Rio Americano's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-2. As for Woodcreek, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-1-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Americano will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bella Vista at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Woodcreek will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Antelope at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
