Softball Game Preview: Norte Vista Braves vs. Rubidoux Falcons

The Norte Vista Braves will head out on the road to take on the Rubidoux Falcons at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Norte Vista has given up an average of 15.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Norte Vista fell victim to Ramona and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 24-0.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Rubidoux made sure to put some runs up on the board against Perris on Wednesday. Rubidoux blew past Perris 20-10. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Nuvia Munoz was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Mary-Jane Ortega was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Rubidoux always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .780. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

The win snapped Rubidoux's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record. As for Norte Vista, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4-1.

Norte Vista took their victory against Rubidoux in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norte Vista since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
