Basketball Game Preview: Citizens Christian Academy Patriots vs. Stratford Academy Eagles

The Citizens Christian Academy Patriots and the Stratford Academy Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Citizens Christian Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Stratford Academy will come in with nine straight wins.

Citizens Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 58-22 loss at the hands of Terrell Academy. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Eagles are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stratford Academy). They really took it to Twiggs County for the full four quarters, racking up an 80-21 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-6.

Stratford Academy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Citizens Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Citizens Christian Academy and Stratford Academy were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Citizens Christian Academy came up empty-handed after a 59-58 defeat. Can Citizens Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
