Baseball Recap: Litchfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Maple Lake on Friday, Litchfield came back down to earth. The Dragons fell just short of the Dassel-Cokato Chargers by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The Dragons have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Jordan Abbott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Beau Schultz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Gideon Boerema was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Litchfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Dassel-Cokato, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.
