Volleyball Recap: Sonoraville Falls to Lafayette in First Game of Season

Sonoraville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the LaFayette Ramblers on Thursday. The Phoenix were not able to make up for their loss to the Ramblers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Sonoraville was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 16 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16.

Brylee Cordell paced Sonoraville's offense, picking up three kills. Cordell got some help from Jenica Glosson and her five assists. Morgan Guyton controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

LaFayette found their leader in sophomore Jaslyn Capello, who had seven digs and two aces.

Coincidentally, Sonoraville and LaFayette will both be playing Pickens the next time they take the court. The Ramblers will head out to face the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Phoenix will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
