After flying high against Colbert County last Friday, Rogers came back down to earth. The Rogers Pirates fell 9-5 to the Brooks Lions on Thursday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Rogers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Taylor, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1. That hit was Taylor's first of the season.

Rogers' defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Brooks, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rogers will face off against Colbert County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Rogers is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season. As for Brooks, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Brooks Lions challenge Central Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Central will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Brooks surely won't give up without a fight.
