Baseball Recap: Clovis Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Clovis East typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Clovis proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Timberwolves. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won three in a row.

Logan Georges looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Peyton Barsotti and Deep Chohan did most of the damage at the plate: Barsotti went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Chohan went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Chohan is becoming a predictor of Clovis' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 6-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Caballero, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Clovis hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Clovis' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-12. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Clovis East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8.

Clovis will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Timberwolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
