Basketball Recap: Benton Comes Up Short

Benton lost against River Ridge back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Benton Zephyrs were dealt an 84-39 defeat at the hands of the River Ridge Timberwolves. While losing is never fun, the Zephyrs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 77th).

Benton dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for River Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benton will venture away from home to challenge Warren at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for River Ridge, they will head out on the road to take on Cassville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
