Softball Recap: Airport Takes a Loss

Airport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to the Gilbert Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 last Thursday.

Avery Ingram was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Airport's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Gilbert, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Looking ahead, Airport will venture away from home to take on Brookland-Cayce at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Bearcats at the right time seeing as the Bearcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Gilbert, they will take on Crest at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
