Basketball Preview: St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks vs. Springfield Bulldogs
The St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Springfield Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Helena College and Career Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 72nd).
Last Tuesday, St. Helena College and Career Academy came up short against the Jaguars and fell 45-38.
Meanwhile, Springfield can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Northlake Christian as Springfield made off with a 61-35 win. The victory was familiar territory for Springfield who now have seven in a row.
Springfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaci Williams out in front who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Richardson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
St. Helena College and Career Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Springfield, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
St. Helena College and Career Academy came up short against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 51-41.
