Baseball Recap: Mount Vernon Gets the Win

Mount Vernon barely beat Osbourn the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Majors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 17-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Majors, who have now won four games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Noah Toy was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Talon Camacho was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Mount Vernon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osbourn only posted an OBP of .211.

Mount Vernon's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Osbourn, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Looking ahead, Mount Vernon will take on Annandale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Atoms have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.82 runs per game on average), something the Majors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Osbourn, they will host Unity Reed at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
