West Side is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Tuesday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Firth. On the bright side, the 55- point performance marked the Pirates' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Despite the loss, West Side had strong showings from Miley Cundick, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds, and Bentley Cundick, who posted 19 points and four steals. Miley is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Reese Evans was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely North Fremont's strategy against Aberdeen last Thursday. The Huskies enjoyed a cozy 48-34 win over the Tigers. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The win got North Fremont back to even at 1-1. As for West Side, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

West Side took a serious blow against North Fremont in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 60-18. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pirates were down 38-13.
