Volleyball Recap: Burke Bulldogs vs. Omaha Central Eagles

After losing to Omaha Central the last time they met, Burke decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Burke Bulldogs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Omaha Central Eagles on Thursday.

Burke walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 26-24, 25-7, 18-25, 25-23.

Burke was led to victory by Yazmin Hernandez and Sophia Scott. Hernandez had ten digs, while Scott had six digs and four aces. That's the most aces Scott has posted in her last 14 games.

Burke was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha Central only served two.

Burke's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15. As for Omaha Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Burke wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Grand Island on the 5th. As for Omaha Central, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mercy at 6:30 p.m. on October 15th.
