Softball Preview: Norwalk Bears vs. Wilton Warriors

The Norwalk Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Wilton Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Norwalk's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so Wilton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Norwalk never let their opponents score. They had just enough and edged Darien out 1-0.

Meanwhile, Wilton came into Thursday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Immaculate 15-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Wilton considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Sadie Klyver was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Klyver has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Klyver was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Wilton got a massive performance out of Emma Roos, who went 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Annie McMahon, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple.

The victory got Norwalk back to even at 2-2. As for Wilton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
