Recap: Milford Mill Academy Millers vs. Decatur Seahawks
The Milford Mill Academy Millers and the Decatur Seahawks squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Milford Mill Academy Millers had to settle for second. They and the Seahawks were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered an agonizing 35-34 defeat. Milford Mill Academy gained 222 more yards on the day, but it was Decatur that made the best of use of them.
Despite the loss, Milford Mill Academy still got an impressive performance from Deshawn Purdie, who threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Oliver Redd jr was in the mix as well, providing Milford Mill Academy with two touchdowns.
Leading Decatur to victory were Careen Bolden and Brycen Coleman. Bolden gained 89 total yards and three touchdowns, while Coleman rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Milford Mill Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Decatur, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Milford Mill Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Decatur will face off against Huntingtown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Huntingtown is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
