Recap: Brindlee Mountain Lions vs. Woodville Panthers
After flying high against Crossville last Saturday, Brindlee Mountain came back down to earth. The Brindlee Mountain Lions wound up on the wrong side of a tough 19-9 walloping at the hands of the Woodville Panthers on Monday. Brindlee Mountain was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Woodville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.
Ian Garner led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Dalton Gresham was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Brindlee Mountain's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Woodville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brindlee Mountain will square off against Holly Pond at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodville, they will head out on the road to face off against Skyline at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
