Basketball Game Preview: Heights Falcons vs. Maize Eagles

Heights has gone 8-2 against Maize recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 12:00 p.m. without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in Heights' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Heights heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They fell 65-58 to Olathe North. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Heights might have lost, but man, Chase Robinson was a machine: he dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Robinson is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. Jalihn Timmons was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Maize unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shawnee Mission Northwest. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Cougars are ranked second).

Maize's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 21-3.

Heights strolled past Maize in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 66-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
