Atchison triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Ma?jia Stoves

Recap: Atchison Phoenix vs. Tonganoxie Chieftains
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rossville, the Atchison Phoenix were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-32 win over Tonganoxie. For Atchison, this counts as revenge for the 41-28 defeat Tonganoxie walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Atchison can attribute much of their success to Ma?jia Stoves, who scored 12 points along with 4 steals. Tyeera Heyward was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
The win got Atchison back to even at 1-1. As for Tonganoxie, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atchison's road trip will continue as they head out to face Eudora at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Tonganoxie, they will take on Wamego on Friday.
