North Platte dropped their record down to 6-14 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellevue West Thunderbirds. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Bellevue West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Bellevue West's part, Brayden Woodard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits.
